What is your favorite season? And what is the reason for liking it?
I have two favorite seasons and one is Spring. And I can say “Spring has Sprung!” Yeah! Yeah! Yeah! My reasons you may ask? First is the warming of the weather which brings wonderful awaking in nature. Trees are starting to bud and bloom. Flowers are starting to poke up out of the soil. And so come the weeds which is a whole different topic. It’s time to augment your garden soil and prepare for planting. There certainly are people who spend all winter thinking about and plotting out how they will arrange their gardens. Or maybe getting seeds ordered and ready to start them indoors. I may dream about doing that but I am not there yet. If you do that, I look up to you and aspire to be like you. I’m still winging it and learning as I go. I do have a designated garden area which I was able to get fenced to protect it from our local deer population. I have a little greenhouse and some raised beds which are really nice to have. And on one end of that garden enclosure I have a lovely patio seating area.
My second reason to look forward to spring is BASEBALL! We love it. We have two grandsons that play and we are fortunate to live in a town that has a pretty good university baseball team. Plus we have a summer wood bat league. We are able to go to many of one grandson’s games and can watch the live stream of the other one’s games since he doesn’t live local. I have to have portable chargers with me so if I’m at one game I can have live stats and live stream of the other two games. I know I’m a little crazed but I’m not that unusual. There are more of you out there I know.
I will talk more about baseball the next time. However for now I’ll give you a few of my gardening favorites to checkout.
- A container of some type to collect all the weeds and debris as you start your cleanup. Check out the SQUEEZE master Professional reusable Garden Waste Bags. They are collapsible for storing plus as a bonus they have other uses. The other uses I leave for you to discover.
- You will need one or two pairs of good gloves.
- Hoses and watering nozzle. I prefer a watering wand that has adjustable sprays and a pivoting head and thumb control.
- And gardening tools. You will see lists of a variety of hand tools. However my absolute favorite is the Japanese Hori Hori knife with a Leather Sheath
- Good clippers and trowels a must as well
Until next time our wish is for you to enjoy sharing in your own family time.
